Jerusalem is a city that is revered by all three followers of the Abrahmic path- Jews,Christians and Muslims. It is one of the largest city of Israel. It is a fascinating place where there is a symbolic union of all the three forms of faith. It is a bustling city, a city full of contrasts.
There are nostalgic old apartments, high rise modern buildings, camel carts and fast and modern means of transport.

Jerusalem is one of the UNESCO designated World heritage sites. As mentioned before it is revered by both the Jewish, Christians and Muslims alike. The city is sadly demarcated into the West which is predominantly Jewish and the East where most of the Arab population resides. The Me’a Shearim is the home to the ultra -orthodox Jewish people. At the south east of the city center is the German colony and is a great place to bring relief to your palate. If you venture further into the West Jerusalem you will reach Ein Kerem which is secluded place with the hoses and the roads resembling a typical Israeli village. It has a number of galleries of Artists and sculptors who have made it their residence. A Travel to Jerusalem is not complete without a visit to Ein Kerem.
Jerusalem is the spiritual center for the Jewish people since the 10 century BC. It is situated in the narrow strip of land between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. The Muslims consider it as the third holiest place in Islam. Its history has been soaked in blood when it was fiercely contested between the Muslims and the Christians especially during the crusades. Since the 1967 war the city has a large population of Jews but still there are a number of people of different faiths and ethnicity in the walled city making it a crucible of multicultural mixture.The walled old city has been declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO. As a whole the city has four distinct localities based ion the ethnic and religious he Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters. There are some fiercely contested Religious sites like the Western Wall and Temple Mount for Jews, the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians. Travel to Jerusalem to the birthplace of three of the greatest religions who constitute 80 % of the world population.
The adjoining areas of the Old city is a bustling metropolis. The West Jerusalem was the official capital of the state of Israel but in 1967 war Israel seized East Jerusalem and was united with the rest of the city. From the western part of the walled city the cultural and civic center of Israel extends into the western urban centers. The northern, eastern and the southern districts are predominantly Arabic.
